The Naija Drone Soccer League is proud to announce an upcoming National Championship that is set to become the largest drone soccer competition ever staged on African soil. This landmark event represents a defining moment not only for the league, but for the entire ecosystem of technology-driven sports across the continent.

For the first time in the history of drone soccer in Nigeria, 32 teams drawn from all six geopolitical zones will converge on a single competitive stage. From universities and academies to grassroots innovators and tech hubs, these teams arrive with more than machines. They carry the pride of their cities, the honor of their schools, and the ambition of a generation raised at the intersection of gaming, engineering, and competition.

From the coastal energy of the South-South to the rugged resilience of the North-East, from the commercial heartbeat of Lagos to the fast-growing tech corridors of Abuja, this championship is a national convergence. It is proof that innovation knows no borders, and talent is spread across every region of the country.

Drone soccer is more than entertainment. It is a living classroom. Pilots develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, hand–eye coordination, and real-world applications of STEM concepts such as aerodynamics, robotics, and coding. This championship sends a clear message: Nigerian youth are not just consuming technology, they are mastering it and competing with it at the highest level.

Although the official championship date is yet to be confirmed, anticipation is already building across teams, schools, and tech communities nationwide. Training sessions are intensifying. Strategies are being refined. Expectations are rising.

When the championship finally kicks off, it will not simply crown a winner. It will mark a milestone in African sports history and solidify Nigeria’s position as a leader in emerging, technology-powered competitions.
